One of Kołobrzeg’s less obvious but extremely interesting attractions is the Maritime Open-Air Museum, situated near the harbour. This unique open-air museum showcases the history of the Polish naval and merchant fleets. The main attractions are two real ships – the ORP Fala (a Polish Navy patrol vessel) and the ORP Władysławowo – which visitors can explore from the inside. Visitors can take a look at the engine room, the crew quarters and even the captain’s bridge.
The open-air museum also features cannons, sea mines, anchors and other items of naval equipment. Taken together, they offer a fascinating lesson in maritime and military history. The open-air museum is ideal not only for maritime enthusiasts, but also for families with children, who can see for themselves what life at sea is like. It is a somewhat hidden gem, but definitely worth discovering during your stay in Kołobrzeg. It is 3 km from the flat.
